Xbox 720 New Concept Idea

Today new concept ideas have been released the next generation of Xbox. With new technology just around the corner it appears Microsoft are really raising the bar when it comes to a gaming experience. Although there are  many similarities to the Xbox 360 the new 720 has a very updated look to it remaining with the black that Xbox soon reverted back to a few years back. Designed by Joseph Dumary the new Xbox has a very sleek look about it but like an improved look to the 360. In my opinion remaining with entirely black was a great choice due to the old white Xbox eventually becoming very dirty looking and no where near as crisp as it looks when first bough were as black holds its quality a lot longer.

Technology wise we can already see from the concept image that there appears to be no disc tray. This is because Microsoft are planning on working with technology that requires scanning a bar code that then leads to downloading and playing the game through the xbox hard drive rather than discs. This bar code reader is due to Microsoft pushing their new Kinect to another level by integrating into the console providing motion cameras and voice recognition rather than through a separate accesory. It also appears that they have taken away the touch pad power button for many positive reasons in my opinion. Does it really take that much strength to press a very soft button rather than place your finger over it. With the touch button i have seen many a time people accidently turn off their xbox or on when brushing past. For me the touch was definitely an inconvenience rather than a positive.

With a first opinion of the new concept it seems very appealing however the idea of a 1TB system along with everything else sounds very costly and will be interesting to see whether Microsoft are trying to go too far with ideas and not thinking about price.
